Happy New Year from all of us here at Northeastern. We hope you’ve had a restful and enjoyable holiday season. Can you believe it’s 2012 already? It’s January, which means we are right in the thick of things here at the admissions office — reading applications, convening the admissions committee, and working to admit the Class of 2015.

Just a friendly reminder that our application deadline is March 1, 2012 for entry in Fall 2012. This is a question I hear frequently while I’m “on the road” recruiting students. While I can’t speak for other law schools, I can tell you that we (here at NUSL) know that we’ll get some great applicants right up to our deadline and so we strategically save space in the class for these anticipated applicants. You are not at a disadvantage in the admissions process if you apply later in the admissions cycle at NUSL.

Any questions? Feel free to post and I’ll be happy to answer soon.

Gobble, gobble.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope you enjoy your turkey day. I am personally a big fan of really peppery, sourdough stuffing with extra celery (yum!).A domestic turkey.

For those of you who have applied to NUSL already (and if you haven’t, the Thanksgiving holidays are a great time to work on your application), I’m happy to share some answers to some common questions.

I’ve applied – and my application status checker now says my application is complete, but my status hasn’t changed. How will I know when you’re reviewing my application?

The application status checker terms we use are “incomplete,” “complete,” and then various decisions. We do not use the phrase “in review,” for example. When your application becomes complete, it is given to members of the admissions committee for review. As soon as a decision has been made on your application, you will be notified.

I applied early. When will I hear a decision?

We pledge to release decisions to early decision applicants by mid-January, 2012.

I made a mistake in my application.

I have a typo.

I want (/need) to add something to my application.

Contact us if you need to make any adjustments to your application after you have already submitted it. We are typically able to assist you over the phone (617) 373-2395 or via email (lawadmissions@neu.edu).

Of course you should also check out our FAQs on a variety of admissions-related topics – and let us know if you have any other questions.

Have a good holiday – the Office of Admissions will be closed Thursday and Friday, but will reopen on Monday.
