Real Life Commentary

I can’t make this stuff up:

Friend 1: I’m really interested in going to law school. How do you like [Other Law School]?

Friend 1’s Friend: [Other Law School] is great, but I don’t know if it was the right choice in the end. I like DC but I’m not sure I would do it the same way if given the chance.

Friend 1: What would you have changed?

Friend 1’s Friend: I would have gone to Northeastern.

Then this happened:

Random person on the plane: What do you do in Boston?

Me: I’m in law school.

Random person on the plane: Oh, I’m an attorney at a firm in Boston. Where do you go to school?

Me: Northeastern.

Random person on the plane: That is great! Out of all of my past and present colleagues, the Northeastern Law grads are my favorite.

And one more:

Bouncer in Las Vegas: Where are you from?

Me: I live in Boston.

Bouncer in Las Vegas: What do you do there?

Me: I’m in law school at Northeastern.

Bouncer in Las Vegas: No way! My sister went there a few years ago. You still have that co-op program, right?

Me: Yea, I’m on co-op next semester.

Bouncer in Las Vegas: That’s definitely the raddest way to do law school. Way to go! If I was smart enough, I’d go to Northeastern and do the law school thing. But this gig is cool.

That NUSL connection got me to the front of the line.

  1. I was with you up until the bouncer said “raddest.” I thought you said you stopped hanging out at skate parks in So Cal.
